Bill makes a VERY good point here. There are 3 possible seals for the oil
cooler and 4 different ways to install them. Getting this wrong can make a
huge difference in the oil pressuer and, consequently, the life of the engine.
The 4 ways are:
Early case with early cooler, and early (tall) seals, with 3 spacer washers
Late case with late cooler, and late (flatter) seals (I add 3 THIN washers)
Early case with late cooler, and adaptor (green) seals (large opening up)
Late case with early cooler, and adaptor (green) seals (large opening down)
This is VERY important. Do this carefully and pay attention to how things fit
and seal as you tighten down the 3 cooler bolts. Back up and check them out
if things don't seem quite right.
