Exactly right. Measure from the drive center outward, then wrap a bit 
of tape around that spot so you know where to put your foot. Apply 
your weight with the bar horizontal.

Once you're there, check the alignment of the holes and then tighten 
more if necessary to align one set of holes. Use a standard cotter 
pin.
