[T3] Clutch Cable Length

This is just a theory:

Could the cable have been stuck somehow inside the tunnel (the first time),
or in the bowden tube, so that it was not protruding all the way out near
the tranny, thereby appearing short?  The person then yanks on it out the
back, but it's not coming any more..........
