[T3] GPS recommendations?

We have a Tom Tom that we got relatively cheap. It is ok, but did not come with lifetime maps, i would really recommend getting one with lifetime maps.

The Tom Tom works fairly well for basic stuff, but does some really odd things sometimes. For instance it will have us get off the interstate at an exit, only to replan and get us right back on the interstate. It has a fairly good data base for fuel, hotels, restaurants and stuff, but if you deviate from the planned route to use one of these "points of interest", it cancels the original route and you have to re-enter your destination once you leave the "point of interest".
