The end play is controlled by a wave spring on the brush end. It's 
normal to be able to feel a little play. If the outer race is a 
LITTLE loose in the housing that's probably okay. In any ball bearing 
assy. the rotating race must be a press fit, but the stationary one 
is a slip fit.
