We got the generator from Jim Friday after the kids left. Keep in mind these
kids have never seen an old school automotive DC generator before. When they
got there this morning they ask what that thing was. I said it's a
generator. Then one asked what does it do? It looks like a starter. That
allowed me to tell them how all cars use to have this and what the
difference between a alternator and a generator. I'm 45 but they made me
feel like a dinosaur this morning lol. Anyway the kids were great the
installed it and then asked, how do we get the belt tension? I explained it
they looked at me kind of funny as to say "really!" But they caught on
quickly and got it done. The only thing that concerned me was we had to get
down to one shim for it to be tight enough. Oh well I guess I can get a
different belt if it stretches much. The paint on the main part of the body
should done by the end of this week I hope. I know I been saying that for a
while but hopefully we will have the engine in it soon.
