Keith, thank you for the help!

I was going by what a former friend said, and learned dare never question what he said! Jack was an alright friend, loved God in his own way, but wasn't to bright when it came to special folks (could only handle normal folks). I do miss him and wish we could be friends again. He was brilliant when it came to keeping Volkswagens, especially type ss, on the road. I could have learned a lot from him, but instead tried to please family. I told them off, and I was going to spend Christmas where I wanted to, which lead to the recent trouble. In short, maybe I need to reevaluate the whole Squareback. I might be closer to putting around town than I think! Maybe I could even make it to the Invasion! Been my dream to get up to that part of the States. I have been to at least half, but never the Northeast. I trust the Mercedes could, but Invader's don't like non-Volkswagen's, which is understandable and fine by me.

Is there a source for brass double crimp terminals? I found pot metal, but like brass if I can get it.

I have a ratcheting crimping tool that will do a crimp almost like, if not like, Volkswagen's. Cost me $07 which at the time I thought was a lot. Came with many different jaws for many different applications. It holds way better than the Harbor Freight junk I had before! I can't pull it apart.

Do you have a recommendation for an adjustable solder iron with possibly a stand? I really enjoyed the private tech session with you and the main thing I got out of it is I need a better iron. The tip is the worst. Also, not sure where in Oma's garage it is...

For shrink tubing, I found a match works. Is a heat gun a better way?

Where does one get lead solder? I thought lead anything was banned.

Where does one get wire? I looked on McMaster-Carr, and it was ridiculous! AutoZone has wire, but the colors are not the best. I know I will not be able to match the combinations, but like to at least have the basics close.

The only issues I have is find motor skill and strength. The only thing wrong with my eyes is overly sensitive to light (can't work on the wiring under the dash with bright sunlight) and poor depth perception (how I crashed the Squareback when the lady made the left turn in front of me).

Think this is what I am going to plan on. Get the supplies and tools for the wiring A.S.A.P.. I am not sure which should be first: wiring or hitch. If it was running, be easier to move and lest cost to transport. What do you think?

Next would be the body. It needs to be pulled so the front suspension mount can be used. Does anyone know of a place in Phoenix? Or, could I do this myself with a come-along?

Also, the rocker needs to be addressed, as figure in an accident it is going to be a concern (lack of strength). Is this correct thinking? I have most if not all the sheet metal, just need tools. I saw a coupon for a auto darkening helmet at Harbor Freight for about thirty normally fifty. Are they any good? With my eyes, the only way I am going to have a chance at good welds. The rust will be the largest cost, and why I was just going to store her rather than drive her. But, if I can drive it with the rust, maybe I should. I do miss her... Time apart breeds fondness?

Thank you so much!
