Re: Trailer vs. towing

.... or you could, like we (Randy Malcook & Jim A. did all of the
fabrication) did last May/June, build an Axle Beam Tow Bar to pull our
Type 3 Square to Colorado Springs, CO.

Towing an under-2,000# Type 3, would be easy for most vehicles.
And other benefits would be:
1) NOT having to pull a heavy trailer,
2) Not having another piece of equipment to lock up & store at the Invasion site
3) Not having another set of four tires, wheel bearings, etc. to keep healthy,
4) ... but maybe as an "insurance policy" for other caravaners, a way
to tow a "break-down" Type 3 by just unbolting the tow bar and hooking
up the disabled vehicle.

We drove/towed 2,183 miles; Lake Geneva, Madison, Iowa City, North
Platte, Colorado Springs, Loveland, North Platte, Monticello (IA),
Lake Geneva. A great (first) Invasion.

We plan to attend the 2014 Invasion.
Maybe we'll caravan/drive the Type 3 or 4-down tow the Square ...
depending on what Dave finds for RV parks in the area or at the host
hotel.
