[T3] Its the Gas....

I am not currently running my Type 3, so the following comments are based
off of the past 10 years running my '78 Westfalia (stock 2.0L Type 4 using
stock Bosch L-Jet and my '68 Double Cab with a 1776cc breathing and
drinking through twin 36mm Dellortos).

I see a pretty large variation in mileage between fuel brands and blends.
Winter blends are the worst around here.
Sinclair fuels seem to be the best for mileage with Costco being the worst.

My mileage goes up about 2-3 mpg in both vehicles per octane level increase.

I have also been using HEET (or similar) to knock out the water absorbing
effects of Ethanol blends. It definitely helps with initial startup.
