I would "highly recommend" getting rid of the old gas and starting a new,
pull the screen on the tank bottom and flush things out. You may get lucky
but Ive put alot of old cars that sat back on the road and old gas...  Yuck!
and yea, that smell is something that will never come out of your clothes..
and even your nostrils will seem to have that odor for days...

I don't know about the brake LIGHTS, but when I was under the front 
end I discovered that one of the brake light switches wasn't even 
connected. The connector was floating off to one side, with a partly 
melted plastic housing. Something else to fix...

The gas is completely fluid, but the smell is awful. I'll dilute it 
with some fresh stuff, plus some injector cleaner, before I try to 
circulate it anywhere.

She's not "on the road" yet. Stay tuned for that.
