> I briefly had an issue with brake pedal free play increasing on its own. Indeed the pedal stop plate kept coming loose. I saw in the parts book that there is supposed to be a wavy washer under the bolt that holds it down and I was missing the wavy washer. Ever since I replaced the wavy washer, I haven't had any issues with the pedal stop bolt loosening up by itself. You could also try blue Loctite on that bolt.

We just got around to addressing this issue. I have a bolt, a thick washer, and a thin wavy washer in addition to the plate.

The bolt was tight as hell so I don’t know how the plate might have shifted but clearly it did. Over the last few months, I went from 10mm of free play to this.

Now, after adjusting, I’m back to about 10mm of play. Let’s see how long this lasts. I put some blue Loctite on the bolt this time around. Also, I have a new brake light switch but realized I don’t have a new boot laying around to replace the decayed one that’s currently on there. Any harm in driving a few more days with only one working brake light switch while I wait on a boot?
