>A switch allows you to run the pump for a few seconds to clear any air out
of the line, before
>you run the starter and start to draw heavy current from the battery.
>The $30 one has a heavy duty 3-way switch that give you 3 options:
Prime/Normal/Off.

>Both mount out of sight under the dash.

I like the "out-of-sight" installation to the left of the steering column.
And toggling it to the OFF position is a definite security benefit.

>I have them on all my FI Type 3s, because

Not to mention, the Primer Switch also saves wear and tear on the Ignition
Switch, too.

>Just prime the system for a few seconds and then start the engine.

My '69 FI/MT Square gets about 6 to 8 seconds of "prime", with Jim's
3-position switch. Even after the car has been sitting for several days
and it always fires up. When I hear the fuel "gurgle" back into the fuel
tank from the FI Return Line, I know the fuel system is "primed" and ready
to start.

Works like a charm.
