[T3] Stupid question #395 Oil change time?

I have always heard that short trips (say less than 5-10 miles) consistently are the worse on an engine/oil/lubrication. The concept being that everything needs to get up a temperature that can help drive out moisture, especially in the engine/exhaust. A cold engine runs richer, which creates more water as a byproduct that can collect in the exhaust and also contaminate the oil.As an aside, I'm not an engineer or anything, this is just what I've heard/collected. For my cars, I try to run them at least 10 miles at least once a month, depending on how much I've driven and what kind of trips (more if a bunch of 1-2 miles).

I changed the oil 4 years ago and add 1/2 quart around every 6 months. The
oil still looks clean. When it's 1/2 quart down it looks a bit darker but
clean after adding the half.

Question the oil should be changed every 3,000 is there a time frame if I
don't drive much? I tried reading about this yet get varied answers. Most
of the driving is 3 to 4 mile trips and since it's been cold here the oil
temp is not real hot. All I read is dino oil breaks down and creates acid
from combustion and water vapor.
