Thank you for checking the hose size, I know the hoses are run
differently. I always make certain the AAR is closed before setting the
idle speed.

Last time I set the idle was a while back but it can't change on its own
and the AAR was closed. The reason I put power to the AAR engine off was to
see if it would close and it did. With the hose to the oil bath off I timed
how long it took to not be able to blow through the hose. It was about 6
minutes , I also could not draw air through it.

I checked if the AAR had running voltage it does , the red lead fixed to
the AAR is not broken or shorted. For now all I can do is let the engine
warm up and check if it closes and if not try the mechanical one . There is
no way I will attempt to repair the electric unit a second time unless I
have no other choice, even then it's a real battle to get it apart and back
together.

For me the most difficult part is this old 73 is my only car so everything
I need to fix I have a few days to do it or I have no way of getting to a
few stores I need to , The good part is I have some good spare parts and a
garage to work on it. Too bad there are no good electric AAR's I had one
spare but it was bent too badly to use.
