Regarding oil changes:

Clearly there are many ways to skin that cat, but there are two important 
things to keep in mind.

The first is about the lack of ZDDP in modern engine oils. While I was 
skeptical about this at first, I'm now convinced that the problem is REAL. If 
you care about your engine, you need to either use a special oil or add an 
additive.

The second is that you need to be careful about torquing the nuts.
