Here's how you do it solo - buy a 3 ton floor jack for $79 and 2 jack stands

disconnect the accel cable, gas line and 2-3 electrical lines that come
through the front tin
jack the car up until the back wheels are off the ground and place the jack
stands under the rear
axle to keep the end up. Position a scissor jack from a beetle under the
transmission. Stick
a piece of wood on the floor jack cup and raise it to the bottom of the
engine. Disconnect the 4 bolts of the engine
and 4 on the rear hanger. confirm that the motor/trans are each
independently supported by their respective jacks.
crank down the scizzor jack on the trans and lower the motor jack too, so
that the rear hangers come free of the brackets, use a mallet if necessary.
Once the rear hanger is free, kneel behind the car and reach under and grab
hold of the exhaust and do the rocking horse winner - shaking it loose. As
it starts to separate from the trans be aware of the torque converter and
the fact that it may fall out on the driveway. Once the motor is clear of
the trans, lower the floor jack, pivot the motor from side to side on the
wood to help it from catching on anything. When the floor jack is all the
way down, lay next to the motor and push the motor up by one heater box
while pulling the jack out sideways. once the motor is free of the jack you
can pull the motor out from under the car by sliding it or pushing it.
