Subject: [T3] Southern dis-Comfort

While this winter has been unusually cold for us in Wisconsin, it's
something we're used to and prepared for. I hear complaining from Dennis
down south, but we haven't heard anything from Marion in Georgia.

What's it been like down there? Ice storms? Frozen pipes? Power outages? No
telephone?

For us, it's just potholes, frozen water mains, and the comforting sound of
the snowplow driving by at 5 AM.

We are under a winter storm warning for us. We are looking at possibly 1/4"
of ice and 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow night. I know yall up there laugh at
that but we are so ill prepared for it because it happens so infrequently
around here we just don't have a whole lot of things like snow blowers,
plows and salt trucks. Our drivers are not use to it so that makes it worse.
If we get the ice too and enough of it that will mean loss of electricity
for extended periods as well. No sounds of snow plows here. Things may in
some ways be better for Marion because he lives close to a large city like
Atlanta but that can work against you too with all the traffic. Unlike my
little 5000 population town I live in. But hey we have had some mild
winters the last few years so we were due.
