Yes. Let’s just get back to Type 3 stuff please.
By the way, don’t know what your “ Super Beetle “ model designations were in the USA but in the UK the Flat Screen models were 1302 ( for the 1300cc ) and 1302 S ( for the 1600cc). Curved Screen models were 1303 ( for the 1300cc ) and 1303 S ( for the 1600cc ).
End of !

Well for me it this information very much effects my type 3 as I have a fair amount of both T1 and T3 parts. It?s nice to know what can interchange and what cannot especially with brakes and the safety aspect of it. But I?ll shut up don?t want to ruffle any more feathers lol.  Thanks for the info.

Dennis,
Yes, I've done both of the conversions you're wanting to do. My son's 71 flat window Super had
both discs and T-3 drums on it. My daughters 73 curved windshield also had elephant tail lights (big round ones).
First you'll need disc brake adapter plates ( from Top Line), so you can use either Ghia or early Type 3
Calipers (66-71). The rotors are the same (Ghia or early type 3), so that's not a problem.
Rear trailing arms swap, as do the backing plates and drums (direct bolt on). I'd go with a Ghia master cylinder,
as they are designed for use with disc brakes. Some beetle MC's have either residual fittings, or "drillings"
that keep the pressure in the lines for "quick take up" of the drums. Not a problem on the rears,
but up front you can run into issues with the discs.
Use all of the t-3 drum parts, as it'll help keep things balanced.
I hope this helps.
Sorry Jim, now we can go back to being on topic.
Bob

Doing a Beetle front drum to Ghia front disk conversion should be
straightforward, since that's what most of those kits were made to do.

Not sure, but a Beetle rear drum to Type 3 rear drum should be just as easy.
I think all you would need to swap are the backing plates, wheel cylinders,
drums, and hubs.
